Wednesday April 10th on Stand Up!

April 10, 2013

NERD ALERT: Today’s show is stacked with three hours of data wonks who probably were beat up in high school. Pete starts the show with headlines and then after we wake him up we are joined by the impressive 19 year old Zack Kopplin who is Standing Up! against the Louisiana Science Education Act.

In the second hour, Ed O’Keefe of the Washington Post joins the program to discuss his latest article on Congress titled, “Congressional Week in Preview: Back to Business!” The we all get a lesson on science from one of the leading experts, Theoretical physicist Lawrence M. Krauss who convinces Pete tweet we are all actually stardust, which leads all Pete’s followers to believe it’s finally time for him to lay off the chemicals.

In the third hour we are joined by show favorite Dr. Aaron Carroll who joins the conversation, live from an airport near you. Finally we plug another Washington Post journalist, Dylan Matthews, (are we getting paid for this?) as we talk deficits with the data wonk titled, “Why Do People Hate Deficits?”
