Thursdays Are Like Fridays That Haven’t Been Born Yet

April 30, 2015

Today, America’s best college football players will be magically transformed into America’s newest millionaires at the NFL Draft in Chicago.

Today on StandUP!

Chrystia Freeland is a writer and journo with Washington Post, Globe and Mail, Financial Times and Thomson-Reuters on her resume, but she is also a member of the House of Commons in Canadian Parliament, which is pretty awesome. Today, Chrystia joined us to talk with Pete about her new piece on globalization for The Atlantic, “The Disintegration of the World.”

Next, New York Law School professor, Robert Blecker, joined us to continue a discussion he and Pete began after Robert took part in the latest iteration of the Intelligence Squared debates, all about the death penalty. Robert is very much for the death penalty, while Pete (and most of you) are not. Listen to Robert Blecker on the notions of justice and punishment:

After the break, we continued hour two with SiriusXM host Joe Madison. Tomorrow at 7am, Joe will be airing a special taped in Charleston, SC on racial equality, police brutality, and how to solve the gulf created in America by those two notions. Catch the special tomorrow at 7am and Joe Madison’s show every day on SiriusXM Urban View channel 126 from 6-9am East. Here’s Pete heaping praise on Joe for being bold when it came to making Gary Dell’Abate’s Mike Bloomberg dreams come true at the White House Correspondents Dinner:

If you haven’t yet heard the promos, there is a new show coming to SiriusXM Insight, starting tonight, and in the last hour we welcomed the hosts of that show onto StandUP! Abby Huntsman and Ari Melber co-host MSNBC’s “The Cycle” weekdays at 3pm East, and now they’ll host the weekly “Let’s Talk with Abby and Ari” each Thursday at 6pm East right here on Insight 121. It seems like our little Insight family grows bigger and bigger each week, and that’s awesome.

Now, if you’ll excuse me I have to go finish what I started.

Miss the show? Catch it here. Listen to some of our favorite interviews here
