    After headlines we discuss Reese Witherspoon’s mug shot for about three hours..

    With so much controversy surrounding the much referenced Reinhart-Rogoff study, we had economics blogger, Mike Konczal break down for us.

    In the second hour, along with IAVA, we had our weekly Stand Up! with a veteran segment. Today’s veteran was Garrett Bernsten, a US Army Officer who spent 5 years with the 82nd Airborne Division, and deployed twice to Afghanistan. Was part of the Storm the Hill Initiative in DC.

    Then we continued our conversation on Earth Day with our friend, John Campanelli of Waste and Recycling News, who gushed over his love for talking trash, Pete’s beautiful bald head and composting.

    In the third hour, comedian and writer for the Daily Beast’s Open Zion, Maysoon Zayid joined us in studio made us laugh and break apart so many stereotypes and misconceptions.

    Then the phone lines blew up as we talked child care with Jonathan Cohn of the New Republic.

    Today we cancelled our scheduled guests to break down and react to the breaking news on the Boston Marathon bomber suspects. We invited our listeners into the conversation for two and half hours of thoughtful, honest conversation.

    Then in the third hour we Stood Up! against school violence with Katie Lyles, a former Columbine student turned elementary teacher, on the eve of the 14th anniversary of the shooting.

    It was a simple day, filled mostly with your voices, and you know what? It was one of our best shows yet.

    Pete starts off with headlines and then if you haven’t advised a President then you weren’t allowed on the first two hours of the program.

    We start off with Joshua DuBois, former religious adviser to President Obama and Director of the White House Office of Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships. He tells us about his experience of meeting with families at Sandy Hook the day after the shooting.

    In the second hour, we bring back a friend of the program, former Reagan adviser and Treasury official for George H.W. Bush, a New York Times Contributor, Bruce Bartlett, who tells us about tax policy on .. drum roll please.. TAX DAY!! YAY for April 15th.

Then we all decide Sen. Warren has no faults. Later, CNN’s Political Director Mark Preston joins us for our weekly political chat wrap up.

    In the second hour, the founder of the global human rights campaign organization, Breakthrough, and panelist from last week’s Women in the World Summit, Mallika Dutt, challenges us to Stand Up! for violence against women.

    Then the married lesbian couple, Kristen and Sarah Kate Elli-Henderson, who posed for the cover of Time Magazine’s “Gay Marriage Already Won” story, join us to prove to Pete their children are superior to his and discuss gay marriage.
